East Tiramisu

This is a simple Tiramisu recipe that doesn't require any raw eggs, but still gives a creamy dessert.

Ingredients

  • 400ml double cream
  • 250g mascarpone
  • 75ml marsala
  • 5 tbsp golden caster sugar
  • 300ml dark coffee
  • 175g sponge fingers
  • 25g dark chocolate, finely grated

Method

  1. Mix the cream, masacarpone, marsala and sugar together with a whisk.
  2. Whisk until it starts to get thick and form stiff peaks.
  3. Once the cream mixture is whisked, soak half the sponge fingers in half the coffee.
  4. Layer the soaked fingers in the base of a deep dish and cover with half the cream mixture.
  5. Add half of the finely grated chocolate over the top.
  6. Repeat with the other half of the spongue fingers, coffee, whipped cream and chocolate.
  7. Chill for at least 5 hours before serving.
Serves 6.
